Total Goals Betting
How to predict and calculate total goals accurately?
It is possible to win and make a living out of football total goals betting. You just have to do your homework!
All football teams have different styles of play. This style is reflected in the total number of goals scored and total number of goals conceded.
So, base on this, you have a rough idea on what is to be calculated. What you need would be the league tables of the particular team you are betting on.
Just follow these steps :
Step One – AGSH and AGCH
For the home team, divide the number of goals scored at home games, by the number of home games played.
This brings you the average number of goals scored per home game.
Eg.: If Arsenal scored 30 goals in 20 games, the average goals scored at home is 1.5.
For the number of goals conceded at home, divide the number of goals conceded with the number of home games played.
Eg.: If Arsenal condeded 15 goals in 20 matches, the average goals conceded at home is 0.75.
Step Two – AGSA and AGCA
Do the same thing for the away team. Get the average goals scored and conceded against the number of away games played.
Hence, divide the total number of goals the away team scored, over the number of away games played.
Eg.: If Chelsea scored 22 goals in 20 away games, the average goals scored at away games is 1.1.
Next, divide the away team’s goals conceded by the total number of away games.
Eg.: If Chelsea conceded 10 goals in 20 matches, the average goals conceded at away games is 0.5.
Step Three – Tabulating
After you have gotten the above figures, you will be able to predict the accuracy of the total goals in a match.
- Add the two team’s average ‘GOALS SCORED’ together. This is the figure that shows the total number of goals that would be scored in this fixture.
Eg.: Arsenal = 1.5 , Chelsea = 1.1 . Therefore, Average Goals Scored (AGS) = 2.6
- Add the total average ‘GOALS CONCEDED’ of both teams. This will show the number of goals that will be conceded in the match.
Eg.: Arsenal = 0.75 , Chelsea = 0.5 . Therefore, Average Goals Conceded (AGC) = 1.25
If you think it through, AGS and AGC are both giving you the same result. Why are we calculating two similar figures? This is to double confirm what you are calculating. The accuracy is important.
Step Four – Bet or not to Bet?
If AGS and AGC have a difference of less than 0.3, then you should go ahead and place a bet on this fixture on the goals total.
Eg.: if AGS is 2.8 and AGC is 2.9, place a bet on total goals of two and three goals. Alternatively, place a bet on over 1.5 goals or over 2.5 goals.
HOWEVER, in our above example, where AGS is 2.6 and AGC is 1.25, the difference is 1.35. Please leave the match alone. The risk is high for placing a bet on any outcome. If you do place a bet on wild guessing and instinct, and you go on winning, then good for you. But what if you lose? The point of betting is to win. Even if you miss this chance, there are other matches. No point placing good money on high risk matches. There are plenty of other better opportunities to win good money.
Remember : more than 0.3, NO BET. Less than 0.3 , PLACE BET.
